MARK CROCKETT Partner

Mark Crockett has over 20 years of experience in earnings improvement, strategy, investing and M&A. Clients have included mid-market and large-cap firms in various sectors including banking, insurance, healthcare, travel and tourism, transportation, B2B services, software, consumer goods and government. Prior to founding Vici Partners, Mark was a principal of NightWatch Capital, a concentrated public markets investment fund. Mark began his career as a banking lawyer with Latham & Watkins before joining McKinsey & Company for several years as a strategy, operations and M&A consultant. Upon leaving McKinsey, he acquired and operated a venture-backed retail financial services company, later selling it to a strategic buyer.

Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brigham Young University and his law degree from Stanford University.

ALEC HUDNUT Partner

Alec has over 25 years of experience in executive level management and strategic consulting. At Green Dot Bank, he served as the GM of Revenue overseeing the $550 million prepaid card business. Earlier, Alec has served as the CEO of various firms including EvoRetail, a visual pattern recognition technology company; Evolution Robotics, Inc., a robotics software company; and University Access, an early online learning company. As a consultant at McKinsey & Co. he specialized in serving large banks and energy resource companies. He began his career as an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Alec earned his MBA at Harvard Business School and his BA in Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead Scholar. He holds various software and systems patents.

MELANIE LINDSAY Partner

Melanie has 20 years of experience advising on strategic and operational change. She has worked with clients across a range of industries including healthcare, financial services, insurance, media, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and retail. Prior to joining Vici, Melanie was co-head of its earnings improvement subsidiary, Promontory Growth & Innovation. Earlier, she worked both as an independent consultant and for McKinsey & Company where she was part of the Financial Services and Growth practices. Previously she was a strategy director for Reuters Plc and began her career as an investment banker working first for Hambros and then Kidder, Peabody Inc. where she advised on M&A, fund-raising and corporate finance transactions across Europe and North America.

Melanie holds a law degree from the University of Bristol and an MBA from London Business School where she was awarded a Friends Scholarship.

STEFFEN McKERNAN Partner

Steffen has over 20 years of experience leading operational and strategic improvement efforts in the banking, technology and entertainment industries. Some prior clients served include Bank of America, Old National Bank, Union Bank, Heinz, Mellon, Panasonic and a variety of mid-sized companies. In addition to his consulting experience, Steffen founded a transistor company and took it from conception to full operation, including leading multiple rounds of venture, customer and government agency financing and has led M&A and technology transactions in Asia, the Middle East, Canada and the U.S with values ranging from $60 million to $1 billion. Early in his career, Steffen spent several years with McKinsey & Company focusing on operational improvement and strategy primarily in the technology sector.

Steffen earned a PhD in Physics from Princeton University and a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the University of California, Berkeley.

DANNY SHEU Partner

Danny has 20 years of experience advising senior executives on optimizing the effectiveness of their procurement, facilities, and accounts payable functions. He has led engagements in various industries such as financial services, utilities, manufacturing and higher education. Prior to joining ViciPartners, Danny founded Cequel Consulting and served as an executive at Value Management Group, a private equity firm.

Danny earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Florida and his MBA from Emory University.

LANCE STUART Partner

Lance has over 30 years of strategic consulting and operating experience, principally in the U.S., Japan and China. Clients span industries from cosmetics and consumer electronics to software, chemicals, insurance, airlines and telecoms. He has been an investor, co-founder, CEO. COO and board member of several companies. Beginning his career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York and Tokyo, he spent over 5 years working with Kenichi Ohmae, a well know Japanese Strategist.

Lance earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was awarded 2 academic scholarships. He obtained Bachelors of Science degrees in economics and marketing, cum laude, from Boston College. He was raised in Tokyo and is an active volunteer in several non-profit organizations including Harvard Business School Alumni Clubs and as a Council Member on the U.S.-Japan Council.

GEORGE SWETLITZ Partner

George has more than 25 years of experience advising companies on growth and operational strategy and serving in senior corporate operating roles. Clients served have been in various sectors including healthcare, retail, corporate and investment banking, consumer goods, power generation and transmission and diversified manufacturing. Prior to joining Vici, George was co-head of Promontory Growth & Innovation. Earlier, he was the founder of a boutique consulting firm providing revenue-focused advanced analytic solutions to midsize firms and was co-founder / CEO of a private-equity-backed roll-up of manufactured-housing businesses. George served as a division president at Sara Lee Corp., leading its expansion into Central Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and worked at McKinsey & Co., building the firm’s earnings improvement practice in Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia.

George holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and bachelor’s degrees in economics and philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania.

ADAM WAYMENT Partner
